Team Toa gears up for the annual IRB Long Haul Race!

The Bay of Plenty IRB Long Haul is back for its fifth year. This event calls upon the best IRB crews in the country to battle it out along the magnificent Bay of Plenty coastline, as they race from Ohope Beach to Mount Maunganui Main Beach.

Trust Waikato Whiritoa Lifeguard Service in collaboration with Trust Waikato Pauanui SLSC will be participating in the event for the 3rd year in a row, this time with two crews entered – one Open Crew and its first U21 Crew.

Racing kicks off at Ohope Beach on Saturday 6th of May at 10am and will be heading up the coast, stopping at Matata, Pukehina, Papamoa, Omanu and lastly Mt Maunganui. If your in the area come on down to the beach and support our crews as they battle it out for the top spot.

Estimated arrival times as follows;
Matata – 10:30am
Pukehina – 11:15am
Papamoa – 12:10pm
Omanu – 12:40pm
Mt Maunganui – 1pm

Prize Giving will be held at Breakers Restaurant in Mt Maunganui at 4pm.
