SANDCASTLE COMPETITION 3pm
Meet on the beach by the walkway nearest to the Surf Club. Open to all ages, individuals, groups and families. Use innovation and skill to impress the judges.
Use only natural materials. Gold coin donation please.
Wed 28 Dec
BIG DIG TREASURE HUNT 9am
Kids, Nippers come and dig for prizes. Hands only. Meet at walkway left of Surf Club. Gold coin donation please.
KIDS ICE CREAM EATING COMPETITION 3 pm
Kids, enjoy some messy fun. Please register at the shop for this popular event by 6pm on Tuesday 27th. Held outside the Surf Club. Gold coin donation please.
KIDS QUIZ NIGHT 6-7.30pm
At the Surf Club. Teams of 5 for ages 10-14 only. Test your knowledge of music, sports, geography and pop culture and enjoy a fun evening.
$10 per team. Form your own team or come along to join another.
Thurs 29 Dec
DISCO NIGHT WITH DJ FUGAZI
7-8pm Children 10 and under- A special set for the kids- free of charge- come along and boogy to all the latest from Wiggles, Hi 5, Pharrell, Taylor Swift
8-12pm Christmas Disco – charge of $5 per person. Wear something Christmassy, bring your family and friends. Groove to all the latest music. Bar will be open.
Fri 30 Dec
BATTLE OF THE STREETS TUG OF WAR 6PM
A popular and hotly contested event. Form a team with friends, family or neighbours to compete. A great way to meet your neighbours or other people in your street. Teams of 7, minimum of 3 females.
Two age group competitions – Adults, and kids (under 14 years of age at 30/12/2016).
$100 cash for the winning adult team and $50 cash for winning kids team.
Entry per team, $10 Adults and $5 kids.
Sign up at the surf club on the day or contact Alex to register on 021 126 0170 by 4 pm 30/12/2016. Quench your thirst in the bar afterwards.
Sat 31st –
SCAVENGER HUNT for kids- 12 and younger. Meet at the Surf Club at 3PM.
A gold coin donation please.
Bring a plastic carrier bag and a pencil. Must be done on foot. A test of local knowledge, observation and smart thinking.
No evening events planned for New Year’s Eve.
Sun 1st January
CRAFTY ARTS- 2- 4pm
Mums and Dads, send the kids along while you enjoy some quiet time while you recover from last night’s partying.
Hey kids! Get creative. A quiet, indoor activity doing beachy arts and crafts at the Surf Club. For children aged 7-12 years. A maximum of 20 so first in, first served. Please bring $2 towards cost of materials.
NOTHING TRIVIAL QUIZ NIGHT– 7.30pm
Form a team or join a team of 6 to put your brains to the test. At the Surf Club.
An evening of light-hearted entertainment and competition.
Entry charge of $5 per person. Prizes. Bar will be open for refreshments.
This is always very popular so be early or you will miss out.

KING OF THE MOUNTAIN 8 am
A long standing Whiritoa tradition. Registration forms available at shop and Surf Club from 31 Dec.
Sign up at 8am, ready for an 8.30 am start. Kids- up to 15, Men, Women.
Cups and prizes to be won.
In response to Health and Safety legislation and the requirement to have the traffic management conducted by professionals there is an increase in the entry fee.
Entry charge $10 an adult, $5 per child, $30 per family
A fundraiser for a fantastic cause- our Surf Club.
Events may have to be cancelled or postponed at short notice if weather is unfavourable.

Events are organised and run by volunteers for your enjoyment- Please support them.
